What's fiber reinforced concrete(FRC)?

What's fiber reinforced concrete(FRC)?

Fiber reinforced concrete(FRC)is a new type of cement-based composite material composed of cement slurry, mortar or concrete as the base material, discontinuous short fibers or continuous long fibers as the reinforcement material, uniformly mixed in the concrete. Adding fibers to improve tensile strength, durability, and structural integrity. Fibers can also control cracking caused by drying or plastic shrinkage, reduce the permeability of concrete, and prevent water from seeping out.
Fibers commonly used in fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) include natural fibers(wood fiber, cellulose fiber), synthetic fibers (PP fiber, PAN fiber, Nylon,PVA, polyethylene ), glass fibers, and steel fibers. Fibers can improve the poor tensile performance and ductility of concrete.
