Polypropylene fiber VS Polyester fiber

Polypropylene fiber VS Polyester fiber

Polypropylene fiber and polyester fiber are two common synthetic fibers, with the following differences between them:

1. Chemical structure: Polypropylene fibers are polymers formed by polymerizing propylene monomers, while polyester fibers are polymers formed by polymerizing ester compounds.

2. Physical properties: Polypropylene fibers have high relaxation and ductility, with good yield point and relaxation performance, while polyester fibers have good strength and rigidity, as well as good wear resistance and wrinkle resistance.

3. Heat resistance: Polypropylene fibers have good high temperature resistance and can be used in high-temperature environments, while polyester fibers have poor thermal stability and are prone to melting at high temperatures.

4. Moisture absorption: Polypropylene fibers have the characteristic of not absorbing moisture, so they dry quickly, are not easy to breed bacteria and mold, and are not prone to producing odors. Polyester fibers have good moisture absorption properties, which can absorb and release moisture, helping to keep the body dry.

5. Corrosion resistance: Polypropylene fibers have good corrosion resistance and can withstand the erosion of chemicals such as acids and alkalis, while polyester fibers can be corroded in certain strong acid and alkali environments.

These differences give polypropylene fibers and polyester fibers their respective advantages and characteristics in different application fields. For example, polypropylene fibers are often used to make furniture, carpets, car interiors, etc., while polyester fibers are mostly used to make clothing, bedding, sports equipment, etc. FedFiber produce different PP fiber and Polyester fiber to apply different field ,welcome to inquiry .
